HYBRID | FRAMED MIXED MEDIA

This month, I made a framed mixed media painting.

For this project I recycled a carboard box that came within another package. When I saw it in the bigger box I knew I was going to make it into a decorated frame, so I put it aside and kept it until today.

In this case I used scraps of paper from my previous creations. I keep everything because I know that it can always be useful ;)

Portrait : Flaws and all|elements, yellow paper : Loves live here|papers , blue paper : Tadah|papers, butterfly : Flaws and all|elements, black and white tag : Flaws and all|elements, pink ticket : Flaws and all|elements, pink flowers : March Madness | Add-On Dividers, drawing triangles: Homebody|elements

I painted the background of the cardboard with white acrylic paint. I used acrylic because it creates a plastic layer on the cardboard and prevents it from absorbing too quickly the watercolor I will also use.

I used a watercolor pencil that I dipped in water and then shook over the frame to create the color spots.

Then I glued several pieces of papers on it with acrylic paint

The next step is to blur the pieces of paper so that they blend into the background of the page. So I covered the papers with white acrylic paint. Then I removed part of the paint with a paper towel.

I continued my background decoration by adding printed elements

I added white paint on the edges of the portrait to blur the cut. Then I added color, again in watercolor pencil, both on the portrait and on the background. The contours faded under the effect of the watercolor absorbed by the paper.

To finish, I addes some clusters of elements

And this is the finished project

As always I hope you enjoyed my post and if I inspired you in any way, shape or form then by all means make a photo of your project and upload it to your gallery so you can leave a link in the comment section below! I'd love to see what you made!
