Hi Everyone,
Hope you are surviving the heat waves that seem to be
sweeping the world at the moment. We are in the depths of winter here,
very frosty mornings but lovely clear winter days. Some rain would be
nice though – I’m hoping we escape the bushfire year that Sweden,Greece
and now California have had. So very scary. It’s my favourite time of the month, I get to choose some wonderful pages to highlight! The template challenge has been understandably very popular this month – such a cool template! I like it when you get a template and change it up to make it all your own!
And that is exactly what @honeyandcheese has done with Drummer Boy. The template has been flipped sideways to use those adorable photo’s effectively and the use of cut-outs is inspired. There is so much to like about this page – the arrow peeping out and around the first photo, the mis and match of different kits but still everything works harmoniously together, and the title work is inspired! To weave the Garden Party Alpha in through the copperplate alpha is ingenious!

Next up is from last month’s challenge –Scientific Creativity from @appellief. I remember doing this experiment with white carnations when I was younger, such a fun thing to do – might have to give it a go when my white roses are in bloom over summer… I love the neutral white background, the black sketches and then the pops of colour with the pattern paper and stitches, used in just the right place. It very much echoes the white roses transition to coloured ones very nicely!

Lastly a fun page from @cinderella, Being Silly – I love this kit and think if you have kids then it should definitely be part of your stash! And I want those chip packets in Australia! How much fun are they?? I love the little circle cut-outs as well and the larger zig zag ones that the photos are tucked behind. This technique adds so much depth to a page. The strings, flowers and googly eyes are such fun additions to the fun memories.

Ok, that’s all for this month, stay safe. Leave love at any galleries you are visiting, play with your stash lots, check out the latest challenges on the blog and I will see you at the end of August for more beautiful pages x
