JUNE BLOG CHALLENGE

Hi everyone! Welcome to the June Blog Challenge! This month we are going to explore a specific scrapping style, but before we share the details of our new monthly challenge, let's see who the winner for the May Challenge is!!! You can take a peek at all the awesome entries here.

Suzanne is our lucky winner this month!!!

Congratulations Suzanne aka fruitysuet!!! You have a notification on your TLP account.
All other participants also received their 25% discount coupons via their Lilypad gallery accounts. Please make sure you check your messages everyone and if your coupon didn't come through send an e-mail to pinkreptiledesigns at gmail dot com!

Here's Suzanne's beautiful page:

For this month's challenge, we are taking a peek at Pinterest again and summoning up the artsy, inky, painty, and messy style of scrapping that I like to call Graffiti Style. Graffiti style invokes lots of artsy painty goodness. It can be done really grungy, really soft and pretty or anywhere in between. Take a look at just a few of the images found on Pinterest that embrace the Graffiti style :

And here's my page using the graffiti style of scrapping as inspiration:

Now it's your turn to get in touch with your inner graffiti artist and create a page with 75% PRD products and you must follow these guidelines:

1. Use at least 10 layers of splatters, texture, inks, gesso, or paint
2. Have black on your page somewhere
3. Have at least 3 stamped images, dingbats or little icons (i.e. can be floral, camera, hearts, stars, arrows, etc)

So looking forward to seeing all your gorgeous pages, but first take a peek at these jaw dropping painty pages created by the Pink Ladies for this month's challenge:

First up is this beauty with lots of layers of gesso and texture keeping the page more in line with a clean style of scrapping, but lots of painty goodness and color! I love how everything is pulled the edges of the page!

by erin

Next we have this lovely gem, with layers of doodles and paint. The way the stuffy stripes fade in an out is divine. Such an amazing color palette to compliment the photo of the flowers. But I really love that stamped bracket the most! Pure happiness on this page!

by judith

This page is super sweet with the feminine touches of florals of pretty pink tones. I love the mix of transfers, paint and stamps used to anchor that adorable photo to the page ... and the title and single stemmed flower lead the eye right to it so expertly!

by géraldine

This page literally sings with color! Love the attention to all the edges and how those stamps on the perimeter really draw the eye into the trio of photos! The music stamp is the perfect touch to this beauty!

by ellen

All the fun doodles and dingbat style of graphics on this page really make me think of graffiti on a wall of a building. I love the vmix of buttons and beads added in for dimension and the awesome texture achieved through the use of the gesso! Gorgeous!

by diane

Another page about music and just blooming with life and color! I feel happy just looking at this page. The variety of painty bits and stamps adds so much interest and I love how the photo is nestled on top of the sheet music stamp. So beautiful!

by erin

Here's another example of how to get your graffiti style on while keeping the page clean. Even though there is so much white space there is a lot of attention to detail going on in this page ... I love how the number 7 is colored in to mark this special birthday, I love how the star doodle nestles a button, I love how the squiggle lines create a spot of the camera. The color palette is kept at a minimum too and is such a great look!

by gaëlle

This page really embraces the graffiti look with the worn and torn photo and parts of it spilling out onto the background paper, so cool! And then lots of fun icons and stamps are combined to fill up the page in a way that is almost as playful as the adorable photo!

by shivani

Make sure you use at least 75% of Pink Reptile Design products on your page. Once completed, just upload your page to one or all of your galleries and post a link to your layout in the comments section of this post before the next challenge goes live on July 15th.

ONE winner will receive a 10 dollar coupon to the PRD store, but really everyone is a winner, as all other participants receive a 25% discount coupon to the Pink Reptile Designs TLP store. So all the more reason to join in on the fun, right?!

Wishing you tons of fun and Happy Scrappin'!

  6. Here`s mine. My photos are kind of blurry, as they were scanned back in the early 90s. I wish I could re-scan them now! Maybe family will let me borrow them to scan them myself. I love this modern graffiti look with the old photos! Thanks for the awesome challenge!
