DECEMBER BLOG CHALLENGE

Let the festivities begin! That's right it is the 15th again, and that means it is time for a new challenge on the Pink Reptile Designs Blog!

I received a bunch of wonderful pages for the November challenge and each and every one of them was fantastic. Thank you to all who participated, and to Meg - "Our Misadventures" for her wonderful templates & discount coupon!!

As always you can find all the challenge entry pages on my Facebook page. The one's for November are right here if you want to have a look. They really are awesome and deserve a peek!

I hope you had fun last month and that you'll give it another go! If you haven't tried the blog challenge before, then by all means give it a try now! The more the merrier and you never know what might happen if there's SO many entries that ONE first prize seems like too little.

I let my friend Mr. Random do the honors of picking a winner again. So let's find out who won the 10 dollar coupon and let's see what's up for this month!

And the winner of the November challenge, as selected by Mr. Random is:

***** TERRI *****
Here's her beautiful layout:

Congratulations Terri!! I have sent you a PM on your Lilypad account.

All other participants received their 25% discount coupons via either their gallery accounts or their FB pages. So please make sure you check your messages!

The November challenge was a look back and review of 2013.  So when Christa came up with the idea of making a calendar I thought that would be the perfect challenge for December as we are looking forward to goals and the new year!
YOUR MISSION
Your mission (should you choose to accept- and there's certainly no reason not to!!) is to create your calendar or calendar month page. We are providing free calendar templates but of course you're free to make your own if you want to!

CHALLENGE REQUIREMENTS
Christa provided 4 different calendar templates [download them by clicking on the preview-image above]
- 2 grid style templates [plain & sketched fonts] and 2 non grid style templates [your choice] to get you started. You can do only one month or the whole year on your layout, but you must use at least 75% Pink Reptile Design products.

If you prefer a monday starting template then click HERE to download a January 2014 .png plus January-December .pngs without year or dates that you'll be able to use and reuse by adding them yourself!

Once completed, just upload your page to one or all of your galleries and post a link to your layout in the comments section of this post before December 15 [just click on the time right under this post and you'll be able to leave a comment].

NOTE
The unique thing about the calendar templates is that they are reusable and you can make calendars for years to come! All 4 styled calendar templates include png's with the 1st of the month falling on each day of the week Sunday through Saturday. Word art is also included for each month and year from 2010-2019.

So for example if you wanted to build a calendar for January 2014, January 1st starts on a Wednesday. You would choose the style you want (grid no grid, plain or sketch) for the template of  the 1st falling on Wednesday. Then you would add your month and year to the top and decorate however you wish,  All templates reflect 31 days. If a month (for example) like February only has 28 days, all you need to do is erase the numbers 29, 30 & 31. [Remember the poem we all learned in school?? 30 days hath September, April, June and November. All the rest have 31, except February which has 28, unless leap year when it is 29]

Making a calendar is easy and fun. They are also great to personalize! There are lots of fun ideas you can make with these.. you can even make a book mark!! It still isn't too late - while you are doing your page for the blog challenge, you can continue on, and do the whole year for yourself and have a personalized gift for a grandparent etc.

*Christa has also added bonus files where December 2013 is already assembled, as well as 2 small full year style pngs. I do hope you accept this mission!

The winner will receive a 10 dollar coupon to my store. Everyone else will receive a 25% off coupon code for participating!

The Pink Ladies have made some calendar pages to get the year going!. I cannot wait to see all of your entries! Be creative and have fun! Good luck to all!

I also made a page myself!
and look how Fe used the calendar on her Document Your December album cover
while Natascha made a desktop with it
and Sannn used it on her FB header
and Cynthia made a calendar month page like me!

I love all the different takes and cannot wait to see  what you will come up with!
Happy Scrappin'!

  1. Not to be a pain, but any chance of a Monday-start version for the non-North-Americans?

    1. Lorry I just added another link in the post to a set of calendar templates in a monday start version. I didn't have time to make it as extensive as Christa's but there's a complete .png for January 2014 and 12 seperate .pngs for all months without dates or year so you just can use and reuse them by just adding those!
Here's a short cut to the download!
