HYBRID | MAKING A HYBRID PAGE

Hi everyone! This month I want to get back to basics and show you this hybid page that I made with a photo from my daughter. I am only using paper, a photo, inks and 4 cutout elements. Easy right?

Let me show you how I made this, step by step.

The first step is to print your photo on a white sheet of cardstock. Before printing I tweaked the lighting and contrast in Photoshop.

Then I clipped it to a mask [Masquerade vol.2] to erase borders and to get a beautiful fade of my photo on my white page.

TIP If you use a white background while working on your computer you will be able to see the result that you will have on your paper when you print. Making sure you get the effect you are looking for.

Then I printed my photo on a textured cardstock. You could print it on white paper but I prefer textured paper because the effect on the photo is really beautifu l as you can see below.

Now, it's time to add ink and other decorations

For my page, I applied ink with an ink splatter stencil similar to this one. I used distress inks but all inks work!

I added a flower stamp [carabelle studio] and black ink splatters.

On the top border, I add a tag cut from Save The Date Elements.

I cut a leaf pattern [paper printed from the All Eyes On You Papers] with my Cuttlebug machineand I cut out a leaf from More Than Words Elements and added them to my flower stamp to create a cluster.

I strategically glued a circle label [Limitless Elements] over the leaves to hide their ends and stamped a feather [aladine stamp] on a white cardstock, cut it out and stuck that to my cluster while using a bit of 3D foam to add a bit of depth.

I finished my page with some blue ink stains, again using a stencil.

And voilá: my finished page!

As always I hope you enjoyed my post and if I inspired you in any way, shape or form then by all means make a photo of your project and upload it to your gallery so you can leave a link in the comment section below! I'd love to see what you made!
