OCTOBER BLOG CHALLENGE

BY JENN MCCABE

Hi there scrappers! Welcome to the October Blog Challenge! Are you ready for another exciting challenge, sure to test your creative skills? I hope so! But before we share the details of our new monthly challenge, let's see who the winner for the September Template Challenge is!!! You can take a peek at all the awesome entries here.

And the super talented & lucky Kellie is our winner for this month!!!

Congratulations Kellie aka DixieDoesPSP!!! You have a PM on your TLP account.
All other participants also received their 25% discount coupons via their Lilypad gallery accounts. Please make sure you check your messages everyone and if your coupon didn't come through send an e-mail to pinkreptiledesigns at gmail dot com!

Here's Kellie's beautiful page:

For this month's challenge, we are back to the usual challenge trend of looking toward the latest Three Way blog post for our inspiration. If you haven't read this month's Three Way | Deconstruction Junction, please go check it out now. It's chock full of goodness for all types of scrappers:

messy and artsy
clean & simple OR
even a little of both!!!

So, for this challenge you MUST use one of the 3 example ideas on your pages in a bold way! Please let us know in the comments below, along with your link to your page, which of the Three Way | Deconstruction Junction ideas you used on your page.

To recap the Deconstruction ideas:
  1. Deconstruct a strong geometric shape & reassemble it on your page in a NEW way (e.g. chevrons, the rays of a starburst, etc)
  2. Create a page using a background paper that has been deconstructed & in some way made new.
  3. Take elements from a kit & break up the pieces into smaller components to use in different ways.
  4. and because we love you ... if you want you can Deconstruct your photo in some way!
I absolutely can not wait to see your creative pages this month!

Check out these jaw dropping pages by the Pink Ladies:

First up is this gorgeous page by Diane. She chose #2 and deconstructed a paper and made it a stunning focal point on her soft sweet page! The soft colors and textures of her papers, paired with the innocent image of her sleeping grandchild ... wow! Love!
by diane (dvhoward)

Next up is this stunning page by Nancy. She chose #4, deconstruct a photo and truly made a stand out page. If this beauty does not get you in the mood for autumn and all things pumpkin, I don't know what will. Love how she cut up her photo into pieces, separated them with space, and then masked the photo underneath! Glorious!
by NancyBeck

Eszter also chose technique #2, deconstruct a paper and created this amazing art journal style page. There is so much depth and texture here! I love the wonky cut-out circles and the amazing shadow work and the layers of paint, splatters and texture are just amazing. I also love her visual triangle with those three orange circles with the word art! So beautiful!
by Eszter (beszteri)

Shivani never ceases to amaze with her creativity! She manages to use all three techniques on her page by cutting up a paper, adding big bold geometric shapes and deconstructing elements to make them new! How gorgeous and original is the shape she created? Pretty awesome right?
by Shivani

But that's not all. Shivani often spoils us with her skills and beautiful pages. She created another example to share with everyone using technique #4, deconstructing a photo. Everytime I look at this page, I am just wow'd. I'm not exactly sure how she did it but the combination of masked photo areas and mosaic tiles are simply stunning!
by Shivani

I hope the ladies have left you with some new ideas for this challenge! Now it's your turn! Can't wait to see your rocking DECONSTRUCTION skills!

Make sure you use at least 75% of Pink Reptile Design products on your page. Once completed, just upload your page to one or all of your galleries and post a link to your layout in the comments section of this post before the next challenge goes live on November 15th. Remember to use one of the three ideas listed above (REQUIRED) and tell us which one you used!
