Meet Fatty Lumpkin, my new crocheted friend

During the featured designer chat at TLP last Monday [October21] we got to talk about crocheting. Some of the girls had seen the post I wrote about my Happypotamus and were telling me how much they loved Happy. I told them I'd almost finished another project: Fatty Lumpkin!

This awesome guy is another one of of Heidi Bears amazing crochet doll patterns using the African flower pattern which I adore in spades [the flower pattern and Heidi's creations]. I made Fatty for my mom as a Birthday gift. It was the absolute perfect present since we both love crochet, both love the Lord Of The Rings [and Fatty Lumpkin is the name of one of Tom Bombadil's ponies] and my mom -and dad- take care of 2 retired horses.

The girls made me promise to show pics of Fatty once he was finished. I actually finished him earlier last week but gave him to my mom only yesterday. Of course I could not take the risk of her seeing my post so I am posting today.

I am really happy with the way he turned out and my mom was over the moon with him too. If you want to make your own Fatty then here's where you can find the pattern which is a step by step walkthrough with loads and loads of photos.

Happy Sunday!

  1. He is gorgeous. I recently finished Heidi's Happypotamus (I think I saw him on your blog first), so now I think I will have to give this one a go. Kate x

I still have to "find" lots of colored yarn and time to start one of my own.
