OCTOBER BLOG CHALLENGE

Hello! Welcome to the October Blog Challenge! This month, we are playing with script, handwritten fonts as titles for our pages, but before we share the details of this new challenge, let's see who the winner for September's challenge is!!! You can take a peek at all the gorgeous entries HERE.

The lucky winner for this month is Tammy!!!

Congratulations Tammy aka tlcd1961!!! You have a notification on your TLP account.
All other participants also received their 25% discount coupons via their Lilypad accounts. Please make sure you check your messages everyone and if your coupon didn't come through send an e-mail to pinkreptiledesigns at gmail dot com!

Here's Tammy's lovely page:

For this month's challenge, we are taking a peek at the latest Three Way post titled Fonts for Handwritten Titles, where we use script fonts in bold ways to create titles for our pages. To recap the Three Way | Fonts for Handwritten Titles techniques, you must use one of the following on your page:

1. Use a script handwritten font as your title and write directly on your background with some distressing to the font.
2. Use a script handwritten font as your title and use of the techniques to manipulate the letters for a playful, whimsical look (ex. use puppet warp or put each letter on its own individual layer and tweak them).
3. Use a script handwritten font as your title and add a gradient, a style, or make it into a sticker to stand out.
Feel free to clip a paper to any of the above ideas!

Your job for this month's challenge is to use one of the three font title techniques on your page (and please tell us which method you chose)! Before you rock the font titling on your own page, take a peek at these pages:

by the Pink Ladies:

Karen uses the shoreline font clipped to a paper and distressed a bit to create this gorgeous page.

Gaƫlle created a really fun title with a fancy script font turned into a sticker, combined with a sans serif font, and placed within brackets. Super cute!

Diane also paired two different fonts for her title work. She used the Bebas font with each letter on its own individual layer to create a whimsical misaligned look. She also added a 2 px stroke in black around each letter (to help define the light yellow color) and then added a 8 px white stroke for the sticker effect. She also mixed this with a pretty script font for the rest of the words in the title.

Shivani used three different fonts in total. One was simplified and distressed and the other turned into a sticker. The title work is as playful as the photos!

Annemieke used a beautiful script, handwritten font that was already distressed and when placed on her canvas, it has a gorgeous watercolor effect.

Now it's your turn!

Make sure you use at least 75% of Pink Reptile Design products on your page. Once completed, just upload your page to one or all of your galleries and post a link to your layout in the comments section of this post before the next challenge goes live on November 15th.

ONE favorite page will be chosen as the winner to receive a 10 dollar coupon to the PRD store, but really everyone is a winner, as all other participants receive a 25% discount coupon to the Pink Reptile Designs TLP store. So all the more reason to join in on the fun, right?!

Wishing you tons of fun and Happy Scrappin'!

  13. Here's my entry to the challenge. I clipped paper to the font and used blending modes to change the look. I also skewed the title slightly and made 2 copies which I tweaked even more with saturation and opacity sliders. Fun challenge - I played with this one for a long time! http://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/nuts-about-you.273868/
