THREE WAY | REPEAT AFTER ME

Hello Scrapping Friends! Welcome to another edition of our Three Way series, where we show you how to stretch your stash and/or share some creative ways to better use your stash.

Today I hope to inspire you to use your elements collectively, as a design focal point on your pages, through the use of repetition.

So go through your stash and pull out some great, similar pieces (like stars, hearts, arrows) that can be grouped together. This is an awesome way to grab lots of elements from kits to use on one page, while reusing your stash!

Once again I’ve scoured Pinterest and scrapbook galleries and have found some great examples that can be applied to our pages. Let's have a look: 

FIRST UP is this adorable page by Marcy Penner, found at Studio Calico. I love the idea of taking one word (or phrase) and repeating it in a big way on a scrapbook page. This can be accomplished with alphas, word art, digital stamps/svgs or fonts.
Here is my take on this concept:

Using the PRD June BYOC, I used the word art pieces and alphas to create my "dreams & wishes" title, and repeated the wishes word art underneath my photo on both sides.

NEXT is this gorgeous page using stars in different shapes collectively. The impact is such that it almost looks like a patterned paper, but the creator of the page states the stars are made from gold vinyl, and cut with the Cameo. In the digital world, we are lucky enough to not need such expensive machines or materials.
So grab some geometric shapes, resize them so that some are big & some are small, and scatter them in a large area on your page to fill up that white space! Or grab lots of versions, textures, and colors of the same shape and arrange them on your page as a collection.
Here is my take on this idea:

I pulled lots of stars from the PRD June BYOC and created a little collection of textures, patterns and gems. I followed the star theme a little bit further with a couple of extra star brads and the star confetti under that big ampersand.

THE LAST example I have is inspired by this page, where Kelly brilliantly uses all of these colorful arrows in different directions to form a large collection on her page, but I was also inspired by the circles in the bottom patterned paper.
Pink Reptile Design kits often have a little line or row of shapes as a digital stamp and the June BYOC kit had the perfect one to carry over this idea. So for my page I did two areas of repetition on my page in a bold way.

You can see my literal lift of the repeated arrow idea, but I also grabbed the colored dots stamp and repeated it all along the right edge of my background. So repeating designs does not just have to stop with one element. Go crazy and repeat ALL THE THINGS! :)
